As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven.

What was it that changed Paul from being a self-righteous, judgemental, law and death wielding Pharisee into one who lived by the law of God’s love and had compassion for the saints of God? Wasn’t it a divine and personal encounter with the living Christ? This same man that was highly educated by the best available schools of Judaism after His divine encounter, counted it all dung except for his knowledge of the LIVING Jesus Christ. It was then that he said, “If any man thinks he knows something, let him know this… he knows nothing as he really ought to know.” There is knowledge and then there is an intimate knowing of the ONE who knows all things. When we truly KNOW HIM, we can never again settle for mere scholastic knowledge… The Tree of Life vs. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the choice we must face. Choose LIFE!

My wife and I have read many of your publications and blogs. We are so encouraged that Jesus is speaking through you and many other brothers and sisters who have posted comments here. Jesus, The Tree of Life, in the garden and in the final chapter of the book of Revelations has been calling us closer to Him and teaching us so much. It is so confirming to know that many others are hearing His voice. Please keep writing what His Holy Spirit is speaking to you.

To know Him truly, is to be a suffering servant. Hatred, rejection, are normal storms to walk through. You will be hated by all, He revealed to us, nevertheless, He in us, overcomes the world in absolute overcoming triumph. To know Him is to love our enemies, embrace His sufferings, knowing that all precious called out ones have the same experiences. The oneness of knowing Him is sufficient for all things. To the pure all things are pure. To abide in His glorious love, even toward those whom His wrath abides on, is part of knowing Him.

Yes, dear brother, so it is! It is a way of treasured loneliness – just having Him very close, a way of valiant action against the most deep roots of humanity – and even asking Him to do so even more rejoicing in hardships, enemies aren’t enemies anymore – just wonderful opportunities – allowed by Him to touch us – to have our heart checked whether we’re truely dead or still some hidden rest of self needs to be exposed and eradicated.
Yes, dear brother, you’re so right – in the end we’re entering a glorious rest this world doesn’t know… a peace nobody and nothing can steal from us anymore.
Therefore let’s all press into Him even more! Let’s encourage each other to be more radical here – and most of all: Let’s start to share in each others life after the direction of His Spirit.
Words are words… but it’s the life that counts! Bless you from my heart!

Markus, thanks for your comments. It can be very lonely at times as God continues to remove everything in us that is not of Christ. Encouraging one another in these times is a good thing, but even that cannot take the place of looking unto Jesus as our All in all. Even fellowship which is not focused on Jesus can be used by the flesh to negate what God is doing as He removes the last vestiges of that old Adam within. The flesh will cling to about anything with a death-grip like a drowning man who is in water over his head, clinging to and inhibiting the one who tries to same him. I think that God knows that we are making progress along this path as we refuse to let anything be our salvation other than His Son. He looks for a singleness of eye on our part, one who refuses to take His focus off of the Son no matter how hard it gets. Love you, my brother!
